Dr. Dorothy Reddy, M.D., F.R.C.P. (C)

Dr. Dorothy Reddy, M.D., F.R.C.P.(C), is the Director and Principal Practitioner of Neurogenesis Clinics.  She has an extensive background in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry, and completed her psychiatry residency at State University, New York, followed by a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University.  Dr. Reddy also accomplished a Research Fellowship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in the Psychobiology of Mood and Anxiety Disorders.

Dr. Reddy has worked both in hospital-based practice as well as private practice with children, teens and adults. As Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, she led clinical trials and research as well as a teaching role. The author of peer-reviewed, medical publications, and a member of the editorial board for the Journal of the Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Reddy is a member in good standing in CMA, BCMA, APA, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada.

In the last twenty years, Dr. Reddy has been deeply interested in understanding the factors which promote the birth of new brain cells, a process called neurogenesis. She has incorporated and promotes the following factors in her treatment plans: Exercise, maintenance of the sleep-wake cycle, treatment of underlying psychiatric disorders including medications, appropriate therapy for the disorder, treatment of medical disorders including pain and addiction management, vitamin and mineral supplementation, if deficient, healthy social relationships and meditation.
